Rolf Wohlhaupter-Hermann celebrates his 50th anniversary at the company
Rolf Wohlhaupter-Hermann, Commercial General Manager of the precision tool manufacturer Wohlhaupter, celebrated 50 years with the company on 15 March. In this period of time, the 77-year-old helped build up the family business into a worldwide supplier of modular tool systems.
Rolf Wohlhaupter-Hermann has worked for 50 years in the family business and is responsible, as the Commercial General Manager, for sales in Germany and worldwide, among other things. After business management training and a degree in business administration, Wohlhaupter-Hermann entered the family business on 15 March 1965, taking over its management in 1976 together with his cousin Gerhard Wohlhaupter.
By now, Rolf Wohlhaupter-Hermann has worked in company management with partners from three generations; since the year 2000 with his nephew and co-General Manager Frank-M. Wohlhaupter. "Age differences have never played a role. We have always had a good relationship and work together as partners," explains Frank. "My uncle has shaped the future and the success of the company for decades. It's great that he has lent his support to me and the company with his longstanding experience."
Rolf Wohlhaupter-Hermann has contributed to numerous technological developments in his time. It started with the world-famous universal facing and boring heads, then the modular tool system MultiBore for use on NC and CNC-controlled machines, right up to digital mechatronic precision tools with opto-electronic adjustment range measurement. With the establishment of its own field organization and the focus on eastern Europe in the 1980s, he played an essential role in making the brand "Wohlhaupter" known and widespread around the world.
Rolf Wohlhaupter-Hermann is married and has two adult daughters. In his free time he has been active for decades as the president of TTC Matec Frickenhausen in the German table tennis league.
