VarioBore – Multitalented or All-Rounder?

Frickenhausen, 11th February 2016 – Today's precision boring tools must have a highly-efficient machining capability. To keep costs and investment as low as possible, flexible usage across a wide range of applications, shorter machining times and ultimate precision should all be assured – production is crying out for the ultimate jack-of-all-trades. To be able to meet these customer requirements, Wohlhaupter, the specialist in precision boring has now introduced a genuine multitalent into the market – the VarioBore precision boring tool for machining in a diameter range of 0.4 mm to 152 mm.

At first glance, the new kid in town looks just like the rest of the family – however, closer examination reveals that the new precision boring tool VarioBore is a tool of many talents. Alongside the larger boring range, through new adjustment and slider technology with 60% higher holding torque, the tool now enables manual precision balancing using balancing weights – this reduces vibrations while also permitting higher speeds of up to 25,000 rpm coupled with a more efficient cutting speed.

Shorter machining times, higher accuracy and optimization of the speeds and feeds, are made possible by the continuously variable axial adjustment of the length compensation for the boring bar. Modularity in its purest form: The design of Wohlhaupter tools and the standardized mounting hole for the VarioBore with 16 mm diameter, mean that current accessories and components can be easily used – this in turn reduces any need for subsequent investment. VarioBore provides a high return-on-investment through its highly-versatile service options in terms of a wide range of applications, including customized solutions.

Wohlhaupter will be presenting the new VarioBore in a global premiere for the first time on the 23rd to 27th February 2016 at the METAV held in Germany's Düsseldorf (Hall 14, Stand B 31).

More flexibility, more precision, more compactness – no matter what tool you need: with VarioBore it's always the right one.
